Comments: The property this and many other beautiful old trees is on once belonged to a famous Manassas individual, Robert Portner. He ownes many acres on which he had numerous ponds, a wind mill, a deer park, and acres of trees he imported from as far as the Black Forest in Europe, the land of his ancestry. He raised his family here in the late 19th, early 20th centuries, having success in the brewery business until Prohibition stalled his empire. 2017: Appears to be healthy with no dead wood observed. Growing next to parking lot. Took CBH measurement at 4', just below slit in two trunks. 2007 measured by Rod Royse.
