Comments: This tree was originally nominated by Richard Salzer in the 1970's. The tree was badly overgrown by vines and other woody vegetation in 2006, and was subsequently rescued by volunteers primarily from Earth Sangha in 2007. CBH of the single largest stem was measured at 1.5 ft. The trunk of tree has apparently split since the original nomiantion. At least four other trees at the site were either prostrate or dead. This tree was a national chamion tree in 2008, until a larger one was found.

Tree was found dead on 6/30/19. Area where tree was growing is overgrown with weeds, vines and non-native vegetation. A full search of the site found only several small Prunus saplings alive.
