2024 comments: Some of the central stems have been removed and re-sprouted. Appears in good health but is being crowded from the westside by a southern magnolia. Multiple stems of small diameter, measured circumference at ground level. Matches same method used for 2014 measurements. Declared national champion in 2018, but was disqualified in 2019 due to multi-stem growth habit.
2014 comments: The tree appears very old and slow growing, but has some years left. Measured in 2014 by Byron and Jean Carmean at 39" trunk, 14' height, 14' crown, 57 points.
