The American Holly Society held its annual meeting in Richmond a few years ago and even they could not confirm which cultivar it could be. However, all agreed with the National Arboretum’s ID team from the 1970s that it is an Ilex opaca.

The tree appears very healthy. No decay. Height measured with laser hypsometer and trunk measured at 4.5' above ground.
