Comments: Crowned national champ in 2011, but dethroned in 2014. Tree had 2 large co-dominant leaders and significant included bark, which was visibly decayed. A chain was previously installed as a cabling system, but the owner was advised that it would not save the tree from failure in the long run. Examination of Google Earth revealed that the tree was cut down sometime between fall 2015 and spring 2019. Former state and national champ. Original measurements in 1976 139", 90', 40', 239 points.
