2023 comments: A botanist that visited the tree determined it is Zelkova serrata, not Planera aquatica. It had been misidentified since its original nomination in 1989.
2017 comments: This tree was a national champion in 2008. A larger one was found in 2010. Tree is in good health, probably will not get much larger due to amount of structure/compacted soil around it.
