Comments: 2019 update: Tree was reported dead by Robert Vickers in January 2019. It was toppled by a storm in late 2018. Former state champion of its species. Examination of a LiDAR image from 2012 for the area around the GPS coordinates could not detect a tree more than 138' tall, so it is likely that the field measurement of the tree was overestimated. 2009 update: This is a very healthy tree with a triple trunk above breast height. Original measurements were 222" circumference, 154' height, 94' crown, and totaling 400 points. |
