Comments: 2023 comments: Tree appears healthy and sound. This tree had a small gain in circumference with reductions in crown spread and height. 2021 comments: Declared National Champion in 2014. Became national co-champion in 2017 when an equally sized specimen was also found in Isle of Wight County. American Forests ceased recognizing trilobum separate from rubrum in 2021 (both now lumped together). Therefore this tree lost its national champion crown in 2021. The tree appears very healthy and sound. 2014 comments: Measured in 2014 by Byron Carmean, Gary Williamson and Mike Rasnake. Circumference: 107", Height: 117', Crown: 54', Points: 238. |
