2026 Comments: Tree is in good health and the canopy lacks natural symmetry. Leaves and fruit on tree may be difficult to obtain because this is not an open grown tree, but rather is situated in a dense forest stand and has a low live crown ratio.

Directions: Park at the visitor center and go inside to ask for a trail map/brochure. Follow the path past the lower end of the formal garden towards and into the Landmark Forest on the Mountain Mill Road Trail. Where the trail sign indicates, take the Poplar Run Loop. At the wooden bridge, cross the creek, turn left and the tree will be on your right with a trail maker painted on it.
