Comments:
Declared national champion in 2016 and recognized as national co-champion in 2019, sharing title with a tree in Ohio. The tree should be safe and receives good care.
Trunk comprises three stems that fork at about 3 feet above ground line. Trunk measurement recorded here is the smallest girth between ground level and the trunk fork, which is about 2 feet above ground. Each stem girth was measured at 4.5' above ground in June 2022 and recorded as 83", 82", 58". A composite trunk circumference calculated from these measurements would be 130", which would bring the score down to 232 points. The national co-champion in Ohio has a similar trunk form, so these trees are being similarly compared.
