Comments:
2025 comments: De-throned as state co-champ. The tree is in danger of being overtaken by competing vegetation. There is no visible damage to the top of the crown. It appears as though the height was overestimated during the previous measurement. It would be good to cut down the mulberry crowding it and cut back the surrounding competing vegetation. The basal trunk wrap of 23" was measured at the narrowest girth below the fork, which was at 1.5' above ground level. The composite trunk circumference of 19", which was used in calculating the final score, was taken using both live stems. Stem 1, the one bent at an angle and crossing over the straight one, was 11" at 4.5'. Stem 2, the straight one, was 15" at 4.5'.
2015 comments: The tree is completely healthy. The measurements conducted by Rod Simmons and Greg Zell were 20", 31', and 16' for a score of 55 points.
