Comments:
2025 comments: There is English ivy growing up the base of the trunk. The codominant stems could pose a structural concern, and the upper canopy is thinning with some dieback. The trunk forks at about 3' above the ground, and the easterly stem forks again at 5' above the ground. The basal wrap of 109" was taken at 1.5' above the ground. The composite measurement of 91", which was used in the final score, was calculated using the two main stems. Stem 1 (singularly forked) was 75" at 4.5' and stem 2 (doubly forked) was 51" at 4.5', which was below the second fork.
2016 comments: The tree is growing in small public park in the Olde Town section of the City. It appears to be healthy, but English Ivy vines are growing on trunk. No apparent threats to the specimen. Note: Tree was measured in two different ways due to nature of multiple-trunk specimen. The largest measurement included all trunks and was measured at 1' above ground. This measurement included the crown spread of all trunks. Measurement #2 counted only the largest group of stems and was measured at 3.5' above the ground. The crown spread was restricted to the branches attached to the largest group of major stems. The measurements conducted by Rod Simmons in 2016 were 140", 51', and 58' for a score of 205 points.
