Comments: A confirmed pure American chestnut by Jack LaMonica with the Virginia Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation. Pollen has been collected from it. Has several cankers on the trunk, but seems to be tolerating them. Tree has been pruned and possibly topped. Heavy sprouting at base with blight in the branches. Vehicular damage to base of trunk.
