Comments: Became a new state champion when discovered in 2017. Declared national champion in 2018. Dethroned in 2022 by a newly discovered tree in Yorktown, VA. Still listed as national champion as of 2022.

The tree appears healthy and sound. Another maple, now dead, is on the ground next to it that was of similar size.
