2026 comments: At time of original nomination, this tree was identified as Ulmus alata. Although the tree bears a name tag as Ulmus alata, examination by a horticulturist has determined that the actual identity is Ulmus americana.
2021 comments: Tree is in decent condition. The top is fairly thin and has some dieback. This was not noticed when it was last measured because it was seen in the winter when it had no foliage. It has a ragged appearance and is obviously very old. Trunk circumference was slightly smaller when measured in 2021, most likely the result of some bark loss.
2017 comments: Tree was previously measured at 174", 55', 98' and 254 points in 2017 by Ben Blankenship.
