Comments: This is one of several American chestnut trees surviving in this forest to reach canopy height and "mature" size. The trees are impacted by the blight but have remained in the canopy and are surviving. This specimen comprises two stems, probably stump sprouts from a former tree. The larger stem was measured for both circumference and height. Crown spread measurement comprised the entire tree (i.e. both stems).
