Comments: Tree appears quite old, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is well over two hundred years old. It has a small amount of storm damage in the crown from severe storms and hurricanes in the past, but overall it is in very good shape. All of its major branches remain, it has little dead wood and has a healthy crown. It is sheltered from wind due to all the other trees around it serving as windbreaks, which have likely lessened the strain on it. Probably in a safe spot as the area likely won't be developed due to Falling Creek, which makes the area undesirable to build on. Many other old aged trees reside in the area, such as river birch, northern red oak, hornbeam , sweetgum, and loblolly pine. The 2nd place spicebush bush grows in the same proximity. Trunk circumference was measured at 4.5 ft above mid-slope, due to the sloped ground.
