The tree appears healthy and sound. Byron Carmean observed the interesting trend that Virginia slash pine trees seem to grow bigger than those where the species is native (further south). Owner states that the central leader of this tree was damaged in a storm when it was young and developed into two codominant leaders. The fork is at 5' above ground.
