Comments:
2024 comments: This tree lost a major limb recently, which opened the trunk as it broke away. The tree appears to be growing, but its structure is compromised. The nominators suggested the crown be supported by cables. Tree is located on a property called Horn Quarter. According to Wikipedia, the historic home was built about 1830 for George Taylor, son of agrarian reformer John Taylor of Caroline County, and is a two-story, three bay by three bay, rectangular brick dwelling in the Federal Style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
