2026 Comments: This tree is very healthy and sound. It is valued by staff. Trunk measured at 4.5' above mid slope on level ground away from the root plate. Trunk comprises two stems that are appressed to each other up to about 9' above ground. There are visual indications that there is included bark between the stems down to about 2.5' above ground level, which suggests that a 4.5' trunk measurement may be across the pith line of two stems, which is an undesirable measurement. In the future, the trunk should either be measured at narrowest girth below the pith union or each stem should be measured separately above the bark inclusion.
