2016 comments: The tree is in decline. There is significant basal decay on the uphill side that could account for the decrease in the circumference measurement. The east side fork has a large portion that has rotted and broken out. Height measured with laser rangefinder.
2006 comments: Tree was first measured in 1978 at 300 total points, with trunk girth measured on the uphill side. In 2006 (measured by Jeff Kirwan), the trunk girth was recorded as average of uphill (209") and downhill (227") sides of the tree. Height was 90' and crown was 64', 324 points.
