Comments: Healthy, yes; Endangered, no. Shorter than the previous measurements, because the top was lost about 15 years ago during a storm. Remeasured 02/2012 and the tree is healthy. 2018: The tree appears super healthy and has added on some girth. January 2019 update from Ben Blankenship: tree lost a large branch, probably from Hurricane Florence. Still appears fairly healthy and is now recovering.
