Comments: Tree appears to be healthy. Growing in steep sloped stream valley in County historical Civil War Fort site. No particular historical significance to this tree known. Measured this winter by Greg Zell, Natural Resource Specialist and John Parrish, Botanist. Located off trail, away from any potential known projects. Became a new state champ when a larger tree at Peaks of Otter was found to be broken apart in 2013.
