Comments:
2025 comments: It has been de-throned from state co-champ status. This tree is in decline, and the sprouts are being managed. It continues to display old-age features. The height has been significantly reduced in the past ten years. Trunk circumference was measured at 2.3' above ground level at the narrowest girth below the burls.
2015 comments: Large, old age yellowwood growing on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. Displays typical old-age features, but continues to thrive. Growing in safe location. There is an interesting "cold war" story attached to this particular specimen. The measurements conducted by Greg Zell were 154", 45', and 56' for a score of 213 points.
