2019 comments: Recognized in 2019 as national co-champion with another tree in Chesapeake.
2015 comments: Declared national champion in 2012. Was formerly national champ in 1987-2002. The tree appears to be generally healthy, some large branches have broken off, but it still has a pleasant appearance. Numerous cavities in the upper branches indicate some internal decay. Trunk measured at 4.5' above ground.
