Comments: The tree appears healthy and sound, and it is cared for by professional arborist. 2018 update: Jonathan Duffy reported it came down in spring 2018 during a second round of storms. This one was less surprising as it had had a good deal of cavity rot repaired over the years. Was all-time state champion at the time of its demise.
