Comments: Age estimates place the tree at 180-200 years old. Tree is healthy and is on the campus of Rappahannock Westminster Canterbury retirement community. RWC has a 165 acre campus. Supposedly, the land where the tree is located was part of the Glebe property of Historic Christ Church. The church dates back to 1735 (http://www.christchurch1735.org). There are some clues that this tree and 2 others of about the same age might have been associated with a dwelling/barn/lot due to barbed wire attached to one of the trees (not the mockernut). This tree was discovered in the fall of 2013.
