2025 comments: Declared state co-champion in 2025. This is a sturdy and stable specimen, with no indications of stress or infection. It appears to be in great health. Trunk circumference was measured at 6" above ground level due to low lateral branches.
2017 comments: An old age, very healthy tree growing within the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. No known historical significance to this historically planted specimen. It has a very attractive form with thick trunk and broad crown. There are no known threats to tree at this location. It is well cared for by professional arborist staff at Arlington National Cemetery. The trunk measurement was taken at 6" above ground due to low natural lateral branching of specimen. The measurements conducted by Greg Zell and Vincent Verweij were 176", 51', and 90' for a score of 250 points.
